Design+Technology+Museums: (un)expected interferences

10 March 2015
San Francesco - Via della Quarquonia 1 (Classroom 2 )
The speech addresses the relation between museums and digital technology from a design perspective, problematizing the theoretical and practical contribution of design discipline to the field. The design approach is set at the intersection between cultural institutions and digital technologies, as a means to guide the creation of technology enabled cultural experiences that start from users’ needs and behaviours. Mobile technologies, in particular, are taken as emblematic to discuss a design process as well as a design framework useful to support the conscious design of cultural mobile experiences, fully exploiting the potentialities offered by this kind of technologies with clear objectives and the awareness of the means to achieve them. Projects and experimental actions are finally presented and commented to stimulate an open discussion on the topic. In collaboration with CNR Pisa (Dr. Roberto Scopigno)
