The selected candidate will carry out research in the field of museology, museum studies and history of collecting with particular reference to collection display and disposal, museum management and organization, museum networks, and cataloguing. In light of the integrated multidisciplinary activities of the IMT School, the candidate must promote and stimulate collaborations between the disciplines of art history, ancient art history, archaeology, aesthetics, law, history, philosophy and visual studies. The researcher should participate in Lynx research unit activities, especially those projects on collection display and catalogue, museum management and organization, museum networks and curatorship. Appointed research may be required to carry out teaching activities within the curriculum of the School doctoral tracks, as well as to contribute to new educational programs, to the supervision of the students and the organization of and partecipation in seminars, conferences and other IMT scientific and cultural initiatives.
The selected candidate must have an excellent knowledge of the state of the art of scientific and methodological research in museology, museum studies and the history of collecting. The candidate will also need to have an in-depth understanding of the different methodological approaches related to museums, including museum management, museum networks, catalogue, archival research, and database on cultural heritage. Based on solid interdisciplinarity, the research focuses on catalogue and collection display and disposal, storage organization and museum management. The appointed researcher has to prove a deep knowledge in collection cataloguing, and display practices (both in the present and in the past) and strong knowledge of museum organization and management at national and international levels.
PhD in a field related to the present call obtained in Italy or abroad. Curriculum with a suitable scientific background for carrying out research activity in the required field. Excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken.

Procedure
A Selection Committee, appointed by the Rector, assesses all applications on the basis online application info. Applicants selected on the basis of the preliminary analysis are interviewed at the Job Market Meetings in which the Institute is planning to participate, if applicable to the specific academic sector. Alternatively, individual preliminary interviews may also be conducted at IMT or by conference call. Travel expenses to Lucca for the preliminary interview will not be reimbursed. Shortlisted candidates are invited for a Job Market Presentation open to IMT faculty members and students. Travel expenses for the Job Market Presentation will be reimbursed.
Selection Criteria
The evaluation criteria are based on: Quality of research activity, including publications in peer-reviewed journals and references; Research organization experience and participation in international/national research projects and research periods in public and private institutions (academic and non-academic); Relevance of the candidate's profile for the development of IMT's research activities; Teaching, mentoring and supervision experience; Motivation; Excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken; As well as any other requirements as specified in the advertisement.
