The ideal candidate has a master degree in Psychology, Cognitive Sciences or Neuroscience and has at least 3 years of research experience in the field of social and affective neuroscience. They must have co‐authored at least 2 publications (published in international peer‐reviewed journals) pertinent to the topic and have presented the output of their research to national or international conferences. The ideal candidate has a good command of tools and techniques for the analysis of behavioral and functional magnetic resonance imaging data (preferably AFNI). They must possess advanced coding skills (preferably MATLAB) and good knowledge of statistics, especially concerning mixed effect models. The ideal candidate is also an expert in setting up and conducting online experiments using dedicated platforms, such as Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, JsPsych or Gorilla. They must have an extensive knowledge of the literature on emotion and social cognition and be able to draft manuscripts and written project reports independently.
Conducting behavioral and brain imaging studies on emotion perception and emotion dynamics. The candidate will be responsible for the acquisition and analysis of behavioral reports of perceived affect elicited by naturalistic stimuli, such as movies, music or narratives. Also, they will be responsible for the collection of brain imaging data associated with the watching of emotionally laden pictures. The candidate will be in charge of analyzing brain data and of assessing to what extent brain activity is influenced by the contextual information available to the participant at the moment of stimulus presentation. At least two publications are expected from the project and the candidate will be responsible of performing the review of the literature and drafting of the manuscripts.
- Master degree in Psychology, Cognitive Sciences or Neuroscience;
- At least 3 years of research experience in the field of social and affective neuroscience;
- At least 2 publications in international peer‐reviewed journals pertinent to the topic of the current application.
- Good knowledge of both written and spoken English and Italian;
- Preferably a PhD in Neuroscience or a subject related to this call;
- Good command of tools and techniques for the analysis of behavioral and functional magnetic resonance imaging data;
- Advanced coding skills and good knowledge of mixed effect models;
- Set up online experiments using Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, JsPsych or Gorilla.
