Ancient Greek Art; Ancient Roman Art; Classical Archaeology; Ancient Greek Art and Culture's relationship with near-eastern cultures
The researcher has solid and documented methodological and applied research training and experience in the art-historical, archaeological and historical analysis of Greek and Roman artistic cultures; in the relations between the technical and artistic cultures ofGreece and the near-eastern cultures, especially from the classical age onwards; in the dynamics of the use, trade, circulation and processing of materials in relation to the different figurative, stylistic, symbolic, political and technical dimensions in Greek and Roman cultures; the phenomena of diffusion, tradition, reuse and manipulation of material, artistic and ideological evidence from Antiquity in post-antique cultures and traditions; the analysis and management of the Italian cultural heritage, including the organisational and administrative dimension; the valorisation of the Italian cultural heritage also through mixed investigation strategies that combine traditional methodologies with innovative analytical and reconstructive methodologies. The researcher has documented experience of working in collaborative and interdisciplinary contexts and/or assuming scientific or organisational responsibilities in the scientific field and, possibly, in the "third mission" activities. The researcher has teaching and/or supervisory experience at an advanced level (preferably doctoral).
The candidate is expected to work in the field of classical art history and archaeology, Greek and Roman in particular, with a special focus on their relationship to the cultures of the ancient Near East. He/she should also support the collaboration between the traditional analytical disciplines in the field of archaeology and ancient art history, with the methodologies of data analysis, analysis and management of cultural heritage, impact analysis (economics and management), museum studies and whatever is relevant, in terms of methodologies or applications, in the field of digital humanities. The researcher is integrated in the activities and projects already active and future within the LYNX research unit as well as in the doctoral programmes of the School, starting with the tracks Analysis and Management of Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies. In particular, the researcher is requested to support the development and implementation of projects in the fields of history, art history and archaeology, including the projects already active in collaboration with the National Roman Museum, the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, the Museum and Archaeological Park of Sperlonga, the Museum and Archaeological Park of Sibari, the Regional Directorate of Museums of Calabria, the Borghi e Aree interne project. The researcher will be able to carry out teaching activities within the PhD courses at the School and contribute to seminar activities; s/he will participate in research and third mission activities carried out by the LYNX Unit, contribute to increase the number of projects carried out within the LYNX Research Unit and contribute to the supervision of students.

Procedure
A Selection Committee, appointed by the Director, assesses all applications on the basis online application info and - if provided - reference letters. Applicants selected on the basis of the preliminary analysis are interviewed at the Job Market Meetings in which the Institute is planning to participate, if applicable to the specific academic sector. Alternatively, individual preliminary interviews may also be conducted at IMT or by conference call. Travel expenses to Lucca for the preliminary interview will not be reimbursed. Shortlisted candidates are invited for a Job Market Presentation open to IMT faculty members and students. Travel expenses for the Job Market Presentation will be reimbursed.
Selection Criteria
The evaluation criteria are based on: Quality of research activity, including publications in peer-reviewed journals and references; Research organization experience and participation in international/national research projects and research periods in public and private institutions (academic and non-academic); Relevance of the candidate's profile for the development of IMT's research activities; Teaching, mentoring and supervision experience; Motivation; Excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken; As well as any other requirements as specified in the advertisement.
