Profile: I have completed the European PhD in Economics at IMT Lucca in April 2008. I am currently conducting reserach at Jena Graduate School on Human Behaviour and Economic Change (GSBC). Prior to Jena, I spent one year at the Department of Finance at Tilburg University, and six months as Marie Curie Fellow at the Centre for Operational Research and Econometrics (CORE).
My main research field is empirical industrial organization with a
special focus on the banking industry. The topics of my
dissertation were related to the measurement of competition in the
Italian banking system and its relationship with financing
innovation of Italian manufacturing firms. During my PhD studies, I
also studied the consequences of recent labour reforms in Italy on
the degree of Italian firm innovativeness.
My current research projects are focused on the effects of banks information sharing through credit registers on the structure and competitiveness of the European banking system.
