Gilles Saint-Paul is Professor of Economics at the Paris School of Economics. He has been a consultant for the IMF, the World Bank, the European Commission, and the British, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish governments. In 2007, he was awarded the Yrjö Jahnsson medal to the best European economist below 45 years of age by the European Economic Association. His research interests are economic growth, income distribution, political economy, labour markets, unemployment, and fiscal policy.
