MARMOREAL is a system that allows a user, using a proper portable device, to independently generate a catalogue of high-resolution 3D models of stone assets. The user starts from an ultra-fast photogrammetric acquisition and thanks to our web-based algorithm is able to create in simple and quick steps the 3D model. The high-resolution models can be viewed on different devices such as smartphones, tablets, PCs and also via a virtual reality viewer, using a specially developed web portal. Through the latter, users can generate catalogues and share them with other users. The system is currently used for the marketing of marble blocks, but the scalability and flexibility of the solution allows it to be used in many other fields and especially on cultural heritage (e.g., digitalization of big statues, which is a complex and time-consuming activity to be carried out manually).
