IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca hosts the "IMT and SDU Workshop on Health Economics and Public Health".
Researchers from IMT, involved with the Tuscany Health Ecosystem initiatives, along with researchers from the Danish Center for Health Economics (DaCHE) at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Odense, will present their work exploring the healthcare system management and utilization in Italy and Denmark. The workshop will also explore the impact of healthcare policies on social outcomes and economic efficiency of healthcare systems.
The Tuscany Health Ecosystem (THE) is an initiative dedicated to advancing life sciences in the Tuscany region. It received funding totalling EUR 110 million from the Ministry of University and Research. It connects Tuscan universities with private research entities, public entities and private organizations to analyze the needs of citizens and healthcare systems and develop technologies and solutions to improve their health and well-being.
DaCHE, with over a thousand research outputs and thirty-two active researchers, is a leading research centre in health economics and public health. Its research analyzes Danish registry and survey data using rigorous econometric methods to generate real-world and policy-relevant insights. A key focus of their work is also behavioural economics, with the aim of understanding the preferences, motivations and decision-making processes of health professionals, citizens and patients.
This workshop will be the perfect occasion to exchange ideas and foster research collaborations between IMT and SDU.
